Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara was investigating a top member of President Trump’s cabinet when he was fired, according to a report Friday.
Bharara, asked along with 45 other prosecutors to resign last week, was overseeing a probe into stock trades made by Trump’s health secretary, Tom Price, ProPublica reported.
Price, who has been busy promoting the Republican’s Obamacare replacement, maintains he did nothing illegal when he traded health care stocks even as he was involved in legislation while serving in the House of Representatives.
In December, the Wall Street Journal reported Price traded more than $300,000 worth of shares in health companies over a recent four-year period. Bharara was investigating Trump cabinet member when fired: report
