Bronx Man Convicted of Killing Homeless Shelter Director, DA Says

A Bronx man is facing life in prison after a jury found him guilty of stalking, sexually assaulting and fatally shooting a homeless shelter director, the Bronx District Attorney said Friday.

West Spruill, 41, followed 36-year-old Ana Charle as she left the Project Renewal Homeless shelter on April 27, 2015. He forced her to drive to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

Charle managed to escape and Spruill chased after her, fatally shooting her three times on Bullard Avenue near East 237th Street.
